Introducing the New and Improved…Beauty Encounter!

Today is an exciting day and one to mark in the history books of our company. This morning we launched our new website, BeautyEncounter.com. The site has a brand new look and feel, is easier to navigate, and continues to offer shoppers thousands of beauty products at affordable prices.

I love the Beauty Encounter name for our new site, as it encompasses all things related to beauty. It reflects the message that we don’t just sell fragrances, we also provide an incredible selection of name brand cosmetics, skin care, hair care and beauty accessories. We continue to carry hard-to-find items, exclusive brands and international brands while providing exceptional customer service.

We plan on adding lots of great new features to the site in the coming months. BeautyEncounter.com will provide information on the hottest beauty trends and tips, expert advice, and a forum for shoppers to share their reviews and comments on particular beauty items. My goal is to continue to provide a straightforward, informative and secure online shopping experience.

I want to thank my team for all of their hard work and dedication to make this re-launch happen. We worked under many tight deadlines and I feel extremely proud of all that we have accomplished. Our company has come back bigger and better then before, and I look forward to talking about our new site, brand and future showroom.

Evolving, Not Defeated

Hello to all of my fellow beauty lovers. I have some exciting news I want to share with you about Perfume Bay. On March 1, 2008, Perfume Bay will evolve into Beauty Encounter and our web address will become www.BeautyEncounter.com. We will still provide a secure online shopping experience, stellar fragrance and beauty product selection, and attentive customer care- just with a new name and attitude.

For those of you who have been following my blog, you know why we are changing our name. EBay, better known as Goliath, has forced us into this situation. We fought a good fight, and I have no regrets for choosing to stand up to this bully. It has been a long ordeal for me and my family, not to mention my wonderful employees who have stood behind me during this difficult time. I am thankful for their continued support.

I have not been defeated. I am embracing this change and plan to make my business stronger.  I truly believe Beauty Encounter is the evolution of Perfume Bay and I am thrilled to be embarking on this new adventure. I hope you will visit www.BeautyEncounter.com on March 1, and experience beauty and fragrance shopping on a whole new level!

Honored to be ‘Almost Famous’

It’s true. We’ve been thrown some sour lemons lately. Most recently, the Appellate Court did not rule in our favor. But, we are making some mighty tasty lemonade with these lemons. We are very excited for Perfume Bay to be featured in Entrepreneur Magazine’s regular “Almost Famous” column, which profiles successful businesses and entrepreneurs. I Will Continue To Fight!

Today, I need all of your support more than ever. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit has delivered a verdict, and unfortunately it’s not in our favor. We have fought long and hard for nearly four years to retain our company domain name, Perfumebay.com, and we anticipated being vindicated. Our next step is to go to the Supreme Court, as well as file an emergency stay of injunction to allow us to continue operation with this domain name.

This battle has been exhausting and expensive, but I refused to give up. Too often, Goliaths are victorious in these types of battles. I am fighting for small businesses everywhere, for our more than 300,000 customers (YOU!), and for my American Dream.

At this time my main concern is that we continue to provide you with quality service. I promise to provide regular updates on the lawsuit and potential domain name change. Thank you again for all of your uplifting comments and continued support, it means so much to me, especially at this moment.
